Make a Chainsaw Prop out of everyday scraps Tutorial

Laundry Detergent Jug Chainsaw

What I used:
  • Laundry Detergent Jug
  • Woodburning tool
  • Duct Tape
  • two way tape
  • Screws
  • old tupperware Bowl
  • Front piece to a broken humidifier
  • rubber pump button to a broken dish scrubber
  • screw driver
  • snorkel tubes
  • Electric Tape
  • USPS Flat Rate Box
  • Exacto Knife
  • Gray Primer, and Metallic Aluminum Spray Paint
  • Red, silver, and Yellow acryllic paint
  • paint brushes
  • Red Tulip Paint
  • pen
  • scrap metal
  • Dremel

  1. First I take the Plastic Jug, which is a laundry detergent jug.

2. Using the woodburning tool, I took off the two nozzles at the base of the jug.

3. And also cut a slot at the bottom of the jug.

4. I used the duct tape to cover the holes.

5. after covering the accidentall hole I made from laying the jug on the woodburning tool with the duct tape, I attached the old tupperware bowl to the jug with screws.
and cut slots into the bowl with the woodburning tool.

6. on the other side of the jug, I screwed in the front piece of the humidifier with screws.

7. Using a lit candle, I heated up my two plastick snorkel tubes(Leftover from the summer sei) and bent them accordingly to the handel I needed.

8. I then attached the tubes together and then to the jug.

9. I took one of the nozzles I cut off the jug, and reatatched it to the jug like so...
I also used two pieces of the leftover snorkel, and made the pull start
handle. I wrapped it with electic tape, and put a screw in it, which
will be used to add to the jug later.

10. Thaking a usps flat rate box, I drew out and cut the three pieces I needed for the blade part with an Exacto Blade.

11. I painted the two round pieces with gray pimer, and the blade piece with metallic aluminum on the edges.

12. I painted the jug with Gray Primer as a base coat.

13. I then brushed on the yellow Acryllic to most of the jug.

14. I put together the three carboard pieces using two way tape, and painted the letters on with tulip paint.

15. I took the slot piece I had cut out of the bottom. I then cut it in half and then cut a slot down the side, and wedged the blade in between them. I then put it into the jug, and screwed it in place. I then wrapped the hadles with electric tape.

16. To make it more stable, I cut out two pices of scrap metal, drilled holes in it, and screwed a plate into each side of the blade to prevent it from wobbling or fallint out.

17. I then add the pull start handle, and the with gas cap to the nozzle with electric tape. And attach the blue push button into the humidifier face for a chainsaw primer bulb.

18. I then took out the inside pieces to a pen, and used it to make the blood splatter. I did this by filling a cap with blood, sucking in a tiny bit of blood into the small end of the pen, and blowing hard into the other end. Making it splatter and spray onto the chainsaw.
Also using a brush to cover the blade tips.

And there you go!!!

I hope you love it!!!
